The Masterplan

Our masterplan has been developed following 18 months of technical studies, stakeholder workshops, and early engagement. The plan is organised around five key character areas:

1. The High Street

A vibrant, pedestrian-priority street with space for markets, events, and outdoor dining. Vehicles will be restricted to delivery hours only.

2. Market Square

A new public square at the heart of the town centre, suitable for community events, seasonal markets, and everyday relaxation.

3. Green Quarter

A landscaped area connecting the high street to the riverside, featuring native planting, a children's play area, and community growing beds.

4. Station Gateway

Improved connections between the train station and the town centre, with a new cycle hub and enhanced wayfinding.

5. Riverside Walk

A new pedestrian and cycle route along the river, linking existing parks and green spaces to the town centre.
