Welcome to the Town Centre Redevelopment Consultation

Thank you for taking the time to view our proposals and share your views. This consultation runs from March to May 2026.

What is being proposed?

The council has developed outline proposals for the comprehensive redevelopment of the town centre, including:

• A new pedestrianised high street with wider pavements and street trees
• Two new public green spaces totalling 0.5 hectares
• Mixed-use development with ground-floor retail and upper-floor residential
• Improved cycling and bus infrastructure
• A new community hub with flexible event space

The total investment is estimated at £45 million over a five-year programme.
